Welcome to Providence House
‘Providence’ means using good judgement and taking the time to manage and carefully use resources. One of our greatest resources as human beings is ourselves; and ‘house’ means the place where human beings come to shelter. At Providence House, we aim to provide a place where people of all ages can come, take time and receive assistance from highly trained psychologists and counsellors to begin to know themselves better and develop effective ways to function in everyday life. Providence House is a place that promotes the understanding of human strength and potential.
Providence House is a quiet and peaceful place where you can learn more about yourself and how to use your individual resources, your strengths and your abilities to better manage the world you live in, grow happier and develop your skills for healthy social and emotional wellbeing.
Providence House provides services for children, adolescents and adults, including:
- psychology services
- counselling services
- other allied health services
Providence House adopts a client-centred approach, which means that each person who attends is listened to and treatments are developed to meet your specific needs.
It is a pleasure to have you visit our Providence House website.
For adults who are experiencing concerns about their mental health, difficulties in their relationship with others, or wanting to focus on personal development, goal setting and life planning, practitioners at Providence House can help you. Through evidence-based approaches we can help to increase your understanding of yourself and others, and to develop good personal and interpersonal skills and strategies.
For children and adolescents who are experiencing emotional, behavioural or academic difficulties, Providence House can help with assessment to more fully understand each child’s strengths and difficulties, and help with diagnosis and planning of effective intervention strategies and support. Providence House can also provide child focussed therapy and counselling to help children manage both the challenges of everyday life or special needs.
For professionals Providence House offers a place to reflect on their own knowledge and practice, and to learn and develop skills in a collegial atmosphere, either through individual supervision, group learning or professional mentoring. Providence House also offers excellent room rental and reception services to practitioners wishing to establish or expand their own private practice.
